Oliver Cromwell was the leader of the English Revolution that turned into the Civil War between the king's and the Parliament's army. After the loss of the first fight, Cromwell recruited the best soldiers from some eastern countries, and successfully defeated the king's army. The king was found guilty and he was sentenced to death.
