Glasgow boyā€™s amazing win Kelvin Dale,18,from Glasgow in Scotland recently won an amazing ā‚¤1.7 million. He is one of the youngest-ever lottery winners. One Saturday evening, Kelvin and his father were watching the National Lottery on television. When the first three numbers matched his numbers, Kelvin was Thrilled. He thought heā€™d won ā‚¤10.But then them fourth, the fifth and finally the sixth numbers all matched his. ā€œDad and I jumped up and danced round with excitement, ā€œsays Kelvin who had picked the six winning numbers at random. ā€œIt was an amazing nightā€. The next day Kelvin found out that he had won ā‚¤1.7 million. His father laughed when Kelvin had to borrow ā‚¤30 for the coach fare in order to go to London and collect his cheque! He returned home in the back of the stretch limousine. But when Kelvinā€™s mother, Dawn, heard a news, she was worried. ā€œAs soon as I heard he had won the jackpot, I cried. Donā€™t get me wrong ā€“ I donā€™ want him to give the money back! But itā€™s easier to manage a smaller sum. Iā€™m frightened that people are going to take advantage of him.ā€ His teacher at school was also slightly worried. ā€œOf course Iā€™m pleased for Kelvin but I donā€™t think itā€™s right that one person should be able to win such a large sum of money. It seems a bit immoral somehowā€. Kelvin is starting to adapt to his new life. He can now afford to see his favourite football team, rangers, play at home whenever he wants to. In fact, his planning to by himself an exclusive executive box at the ground costing a cool ā‚¤ 30,000! He has also given a large sum of money to his father who has had to give up work because of illness. However, the lottery win has also brought its own problems. Since winning the money, Kelvin has received a pile a begging letters from stranger and charities, plus dozens of letters and phone calls from ā€œwannabeā€ girlfriends. ā€œThere are days when I wish everything was back to normalā€, says Kelvin. ā€œOf course I like having the money but things will never be the same againā€.
