So it's generally a bad idea to go outside between midday and three o'clock.
3) Why is it a good idea to check the house the day before you leave?
You must always check the house when you leave on a long holiday, because anything can happen while you are away, so it's best to minimize the risk. Before you go away, you should turn off the gas, water and electricity and make sure that all doors and windows are properly locked, so that nobody will be able to enter.
4) Why is it a good idea to smile?
Generally, if you smile then you will have a better attitude as well. You will look more approachable and feel happier and more eager to try out new things. Also, you will look way better in photos.
