In the past people used to cut down a lot of forests and they did not plant new trees, so they destroyed the rain forest. Because of this the air is more polluted nowadays, the climate has changed.
People also used to kill a lot of elephants for their ivory. They needed it to manufacture ivory objects and get money. They did not protect nature.
They were not wise with the environment and nature and today we feel the consequences.
