The latest object I've bought is a cup. I needed a new one because I managed to break my old one. The new one is very big, with a special space destined for cookies. It is blue, with white polka dots. I like it very much because I can finally comfortably drink my tea in the morning, feel cozy and prepare me for the day.
In January I traveled to Brisbane with my partner to visit his parents. We stayed with his parents, who have retired in a little coastal town called Woody Point on the outskirts of Brisbane, about half an hour from the city. I love staying there because the house is right on the water and it’s very private. And of course the weather is beautiful in Australia, especially in summer so I spent a lot of time on the beach, reading a book. We also spent time with Lincoln’s parents; they took us into the city and we went to several markets. We bought lots of clothing at factory outlets; they cost half the price for the same thing here! I was able to buy lots of cheap maternity clothing (skirts for $20!) and the credit card was given a great workout! Because the weather was so nice we went for walks every morning along the beach and one night we saw an outdoor movie in a park. Lincoln’s parents took us out for dinner to a very nice restaurant on our last night there, which served bizarre food such as kangaroo and snake meat. I wasn’t aware there was a demand for such types of food! I ate a little bit of ostrich meat which was actually very nice! During our last day in Brisbane we went to see South Bank Beach, which is actually a man-made beach right in the centre of the city! There were a lot of people there, swimming and trying to escape the heat!
