a) Mrs,Brown ......hurt........her leg and she .........couldn't.....do any housework.
She .....made.....a list and ...gave......it to the children .
Joe ....did........the cleaning.
He .....didn't like.....doing the sweeping but he ....enjoyed.....doing the dusting and the vacuum cleaning. Sally ..helped......,too.
She .........didn't do.......the washing because they ......had..........a washing machine .
She had to do the ironing and she ....hated............it because it ......took......a long time.
Mary helped with the cooking. She ..cooked..........breakfast and lunch ,but she couldn't cook dinner.

Mrs brown was happy. Everybody in the family helped.
b)the first washing machine ...was.....invented by an Englishman in 1897. He ....put...the dirty clothed, soap and water in a big wooden box.
When the handle was turned ,the box ..went....round
The clothes ....were....taken out and squeezed between two rollers above the box.
Next the clothes were rinsed in the box with clean water .
Then you ..had..to squeeze them between the rollers again.
It was a lot of hard work!
The vacuum cleaner was invented is England in 1901.
It ...had.....a big petrol engine and was placed on a cart .
A horse ...pulled...the cart to a house .
They ..opened.....the window and ....pushed..........a long hose into the room .
The hose ...got..all the dust and dirt in the carpet. This is how they .......cleaned.............carpets by a machine a hundred years ago.
Orville and Wilbur Wright ,two American brothers.......built..............an aeroplane called The Flyer .in December 1903 Orville W. ...started..........the engine and the plane ...took..........off.
It .....flew.......for twelve seconds and ..landed.......again
