        Castelul Glamis, unul dintre cele mai frumoase din Scotia, construit in regiunea Angus din estul tarii, este leaganul multor legende infricosatoare.        Cea mai populara dintre ele este legenda monstrului din Glamis, un copil extrem de diform, nascut in anul 1821, care ar fi trait toata viata lui inchis in acel castel.Potrivit legendei, un vampir nascut in fiecare generatie in familia Monstrului este pastrat in interiorul zidurilor camerei sale. Totodată, se mai spune că oaspeţii care stau la castel, atunci când atârnă prosoapele la fereastră, acestea îşi îndreaptă poziţia spre camera zidită a monstrului.        Castelul, in jurul caruia se afla unul dintre marile domenii regale de vanatoare, este considerat astazi de catre expertii in paranormal drept cel mai bantuit castel din Scotia. Administratorii castelului incearca sa scape de aceasta reputatie "anormala".        Cel mai faimos castel bântuit din Scoţia este castelul Glamis. Din 1372, castelul se află în custodia conţilor de Strathmore. Regina actuală a Marii Britaniei, Elisabeth, a fost nepoata celui de-al 14-lea conte de Strathmore, iar prinţesa Margareta a Marii Britanii s-a născut aici (1930).        Castelul are o istorie sinistră: în secolul al 11-lea, regele Malcolm al III-lea a fost omorât aici, şi la fel şi regele Duncan care apare şi în piesa lui Shakespeare, “Macbeth”. În secolul al XVI-lea, văduva unui lord Glamis, lady Janet Douglas, a fost arsă pe rug ca vrăjitoare, întrucât a încercat să-l asasineze pe regele James al V-lea.
